I am a certified Nutritionist and Health Coach from the Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health.

I grew up with a mother who was born and raised in Ireland; she had a “no nonsense” approach to food. While everyone else had Wonderbread and JIF, she made us PB&J sandwiches with the “weird” all-natural runny peanut butter, whole wheat bread and homemade marmalade.

As a student athlete in college, I learned about the importance of food as fuel, proper hydration and recovery. After, when I moved to LA, I was bombarded with all the California trends, but soon understood how we can use food to make us feel (really) good. I learned about the power of plants, discovered yoga and started a meditation practice. After, I moved to Madrid for my Masters in Business Administration. Think: fresh olives, tomatoes, the best red wine and a slower-paced lifestyle. I now live in London and recently graduated from the Irish Institute from Health and Nutrition.

Lets work toward re-framing food descriptions to non villainizing ones: instead of guilty, guilty, treat, cheat, bad, good, forbidden, problem… replace with: savory, sweet, salty, rich, buttery, bitter, tart, spicy, bland, creamy, crunchy, flaky, delicious. -@thenutritiontea
